John Crowley (@jcrowley) on data for climate action:

John Crowley is Project Manager for the Data for Climate Action Challenge at UN Global Pulse, a global open innovation initiative for climate resilience. Data for Climate Action models a new approach to public-private data sharing, revealing the shared value of big data for climate resilience and sustainable development. John explores the ways in which open innovation, open source code, and open standards provide mechanisms to connect organizations that may not be able to directly interact and who may hold entirely different beliefs about the nature of a problem.

John will discuss the data for climate ecosystem within the context of his experience working at the intersection of informal digital communities and formal humanitarian institutions; civilian agencies and militaries; and for-profit and non-profit entities.
