What’s Important About Underwater Internet Cables

Ingrid Burrington

D&S artist in residence Ingrid Burrington answers three important questions about submarine internet cables: who owns them, who builds them and how do they end up where they end up?

But they remain useful objects for understanding some of the public and private power dynamics that play across the network at the infrastructural level, literally across oceans.
