Amelia Acker

Amelia Acker is an information scientist who researches data literacy, metadata, and information infrastructures that support long-term cultural memory and digital archives. She is currently an assistant professor of information in the iSchool at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests focus on the emergence, standardization, and preservation of new forms of data and metadata created with mobile information and communication technologies. At Data and Society, Amelia will be working with the Media Manipulation initiative developing methods for tracking misinformation and disinformation campaigns with social media metadata.
