FAQs

Why give through a DAF?
Donor-advised funds (DAFs) continue to grow in popularity as a way for donors to simplify their giving through one platform and give to multiple causes. DAF donors receive immediate tax benefits, eliminate capital gains on donated stock, and have the potential to grow their charitable giving portfolio. For some, DAFs are more financially beneficial, intentional, and impactful than traditional giving avenues.

How does giving through a DAF benefit nonprofits?
Because DAF assets are already set aside for charitable purposes, DAFs can help sustain nonprofit giving during periods of economic uncertainty and may provide a more resilient source of philanthropic funding overall.

Who are DAFs for?
Anyone! DAFs are increasingly accessible to a wide range of donors — not just ultra-high-net-worth philanthropists. While some DAF providers require a minimum initial contribution to open an account ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, some newer providers offer low barriers to entry with no minimums to open an account.
