Kimberly Fernandes

Kim Fernandes is a Data & Society affiliate, and a joint doctoral candidate in anthropology and education at the University of Pennsylvania. As a researcher, writer, and educator, they are interested in how the body meets and moves through the world. Their current research, emerging from their dissertation project, lies at the intersections of disability, data and governance. Through this project, they are particularly focused on processes of enumerating and identifying disability in urban India. 

Kim received an M.S.Ed. in statistics, measurement, assessment and research technologies from the University of Pennsylvania, an Ed.M. in international education policy from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, and a bachelor of science in foreign service from Georgetown University.
