Asian Americans are crowdsourcing a letter to explain Black Lives Matter to their families

Christina Xu

D&S advisor Christina Xu was quoted about her initiation of an open Google Document made by and for Asian Americans to explain why they support Black Lives Matter to relatives in this piece for The Next Web.

“I’ve had difficult conversations about this stuff with my parents before, so I knew how hard it can be to find the words to communicate with them, especially in their language,” [Xu] tells TNW. “We have so many useful words and concepts for describing racism but a lot of them are very academic and not ideal for immigrants who don’t necessarily have a clear understanding of US history.”
