Sonja Solomun, a Data & Society affiliate, is an assistant professor (research) at the Max Bell School of Public Policy at McGill University, and deputy director of the Centre for Media, Technology, and Democracy. Her work focuses on tech policy, platform governance, climate justice, and the environmental impact of digital technologies. She holds multiple fellowships and affiliations with leading organizations including the Center for Democracy & Technology and the Climate Social Science Network at Brown University. She is a founding member of the Platform Governance Research Network. Sonja’s work and community involvement has been featured in the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology digest, The Financial Times, MIT Technology Review, Nature, BBC, Vice, Wired, Tech Crunch, and OneZero.
