Eryn Loeb

As Senior Editor, Communications, Eryn Loeb works to advance Data & Society’s editorial communications and connect its research and insights with broader audiences. Her work aims to shift public conversation about the impacts of data-centric and automated technologies, and untangle their social and cultural implications.

Before joining D&S, Eryn was an editorial and strategic communications consultant for organizations including the Environmental Defense Fund, the Collaborative for Gender + Reproductive Equity, the NoVo Foundation, and the Ford Foundation, where she previously served for several years as lead writer and editor.

A longtime nonfiction editor with Guernica, an award-winning, volunteer-run magazine focused on the intersection of arts and politics, Eryn worked with numerous emerging writers and established authors on essays, reportage, and commentary that wrestle with and reflect our cultural moment. Her own essays and reviews have appeared in publications including Longreads, Poets & WritersThe Los Angeles TimesBookforum, and BOMB.
