Sam Hinds Garcia leads strategic engagement with external audiences for Data & Society. Hinds Garcia works closely with research initiatives such as Media Manipulation and Future of Labor to cultivate stories, products, and experiences from their research insights. She has a special focus on media practitioner engagement, multimedia communications, and creative direction.
Her previous roles include communications design studio Tact Department, international public/political art nonprofit Creative Time, digital media project The New Inquiry, post-conflict accountability NGO the International Center for Transitional Justice, and political risk research consultancy Eurasia Group.
She was also Editor-in-Chief of Fortnight, a bootstrapped digital documentary project that was the first to focus on the millennial generation.
