Director of Communications and Creative Engagement
Sam Hinds Garcia is a creative director and strategist who works with emerging technology experts to envision and cultivate resonant stories, products, and experiences from their insights. She directs all digital and print editorial and creative content for Data & Society.
Sam also ideates Data & Society’s media and international collaborations and serves on a senior leadership team responsible for institutional sustainability, culture, and strategic planning. She has spoken at re:publica, Katapult Future Fest, the School of Visual Arts, and the University of Oxford.
Previous roles include directing communications design studio Tact Department, directing the communications and marketing wing of public art organization Creative Time, serving as Editor-at-Large for The New Inquiry, organizing global outreach at the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), and working for political risk research consultancy Eurasia Group.
