Sam Hinds Garcia is Data & Society’s Director of Communications.
She was previously principal of Tact Department, a communications design studio for emerging leaders, Director of Marketing & Communications for Creative Time, Program Director of the MakerBot Foundation, and Editor-at-Large of The New Inquiry. She has advised leadership at Korea Design Membership, SVA Products of Design, and several major nonprofits. She helped bootstrap and direct coverage for Fortnight, the first documentary on the millennial generation. Before working in media, she coordinated policymaker and civil society outreach at the International Center for Transitional Justice, a post-conflict accountability NGO. She also worked for Eurasia Group, a political risk research consultancy.
