Patrick Davison has spent the last ten years working to conduct and support social science research on the role networked technologies play in organizing cultural practice and everyday life. As Data & Society’s associate director of research, he is responsible for vetting and directing the organization’s research direction and outputs, as well as supporting several external collaborations.
Patrick holds a PhD from the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, where his dissertation presented a history of the influence of twentieth-century US social science on contemporary social media. He has written, researched, and supervised script production for a number of educational digital programs, including Crash Course and PBS’s Idea Channel. He lives in Virginia with his partner, children, and dog.
